Whats going on with Windows 10?

Anyone know when the official release of OS10 will be for mobiles/phones.

I read it was Dec, but I check daily and I'm still not seeing any updates available in my settings.

Anyone, any the wiser?

I need a reliable phone so so far I've stayed away from Win 10 mobile, been eating me up though!

Today I took delivery of an almost new 640XL to use as a 2nd phone and first thing i done was install Win 10 mobile through the Insiders fast ring program. Easy to do and I have to admit I'm impressed, not only with Win 10 but on how well the fairly lowly spec'd 640XL is running it. That said I've just been setting things up and not tried playing games or multi tasking, not that I do much of either normally.

Biggest issue during the upgrade is how long the store took to update apps, yonks. Even worse I'm currently downloading UK&I offline maps and after 1.5hrs I'm only 60% through the UK. If you leave that part or allow the screen to timeout it starts from scratch so I'll have to persevere.

Fingers crossed it's not too bug ridden, reviews of the latest build say its almost ready for release!

I seem to have taken ownership of a 640 too, teenage girls rejected Christmas present due to lack of apps and games. She got a Smart Ultra 6 instead, broke my heart to see another deserter to Android lol

Business apps are fine but I guess they don't interest teenage girls much!

Win10 seems to run fine on the older hardware. And I'm pleased to say, after many updates, it's ruining fine on my new 950
