SMS transfer between Lumias

Hi,

 

Ive upgraded from one lumia to another but am having trouble transferring SMS messages between the old and new. I had a 625, now have a 550. I had the 625 on to backup but I don't know where they go.

 

I tried the transfer my data but it only did my contacts.

If you had sms backup turned on it will pull them onto the new phone when you log in with your windows id.

Using the same Microsoft Live account, you should be able to ask the old device to backup everything.  You can do this through:

 

1) first turn on the message back up in text message options

2) go into accounts and syncronise your live account

3) do a device backup

4) turn on your new device and make sure you are using the same live account

5) wait, the messages will come in soon!
