Why does my phone seem to ask me to pay to verify my age to view normal websites? .. I am 21 + On contract, so surely my phone shouldn't be restricted at all???

This does crop up on a regular basis and the issue isn't with the age of the account holder. Many parents put a child on contract in the parents name. More information here :

Sometimes content on other websites such as cross-linked advertisements and such like fall under the banner of unsuitable. Lets face it, Blackberry is predominantly used by teens and a possible reason for this restriction.

Check the app store for some sort of filter which blocks 3rd party adverts and such like. If the content you are looking at is innocent enough then maybe you need to find out why. The usual things like **bleep** will be blocked and also alcohol, cigarettes, Gary Glitter's twitter feed..the usual.

Indubitably true. Samsung S21 Ultra and Xiaomi 14 Ultra

You can get the block lifted in an O2 shop or by following the verification instructions on the page you get diverted to. It's on everyone's account, regardless of age - you have to remove it yourself.
I have no affiliation whatsoever with O2 or any subsidiary companies. Comments posted are entirely of my own opinion. This is not Customer Service so we are unable to help with account specific issues.
