When will I get the 7.8 update for my nokia lumia 800. Got very latest version of zune installed today 13/04/13 but updater keeps saying my phone is up to date at version 7.10 (8779) which to my knowledge is an update from July 2012.

Tried the disconnect from the internet trick on zune but still nada...this fiasco is a cracking advert for jelly bean 4.2 that updates ota without any of this rigmaro..

Any O2 branded phone will wait a long time for updates, be it from Nokia or from Android. Just do a search on the forum and you will see for yourself.

Whatever your preference (?Phone, Blackberry, Android) my advice is always source your handset from a third party pos - this way you can be certain that it will be 'unbranded', i.e. free from carrier bloatware and capable of receiving OTA updates direct from the manufacturer as soon as they are released, rather than waiting weeks for 'testing' as the likes of O2/Voda etc. like to describe adding their unwanted and rarely used apps .....

if you dont want to wait for your carrier to release updates, you can debrand your phone so you get all updates straight away but it might void your warranty
