I'm after some advice regarding the 'Pocket Hotspot Huawei 4G'. My lad lives apart from me and his internet is terrible for gaming on his xbox. Would something like this be suitable? I figure a 50gb allowance would give him 50 or so hours at 100gb an hour. Any thoughts?

Make sure the network connection is good before commiting to anything.

Only guaranteed way is to check with a PAYG sim first.

My lad has a pay as you go phone on 02. What am I looking for? Is 02's coverage checker a good indicator?

It's a computer simulation so not 100% guaranteed.
Best to try a PAYG sim first to see before committing to anything more expensive.

My son has a PAYG phone on 02. What do we need to look at to see if the service will be any good? Just the bars on his phone?

Yes, if his signal is strong on the phone it will be OK.
