Hi there,

How can I block my mobile number from being displayed on outgoing calls?

Thanks,

You can block it through the call settings menu ~ what phone do you have?
Alternately,if it's just one call you wish to hide your ID, you can dial the number you are calling manually, but enter 141 and then the number. :slight_smile:

Keep in mind that if you block your caller ID, people may choose not to answer (as they don't know it's you!) or they might have software on their phone which blocks all unknown callers (this is what I do).

Thanks for the replies. I might just use 141 for single calls but is there a way of doing this permanently on the i-phone?

Best,

At a guess (I don't have an iPhone but found this elsewhere on the web):

Settings ->Phone ->Show My Caller ID ->Off

I'm guessing here, and it more of a general thought, but wouldn't blocking your caller ID affect bolt-on's like unlimited o2 to o2 calls? Would the outgoing phone be recognised as an o2 number, or does it work differently?

Doesn't affect it :slight_smile:

Also "blocking" your caller ID doesnt prevent it being sent technically ... just puts a flag on it which instruct the carriers not to make it available through caller ID displays / 1471 Call Return etc... certain services (for instance emergency service numbers) can still see your caller ID information - as can other telephone providers, they just don't pass it to the end user.
