Hi there Blackberry users,
I have some good news to share with you all. I don't have an exact date quite yet but the 10.2.1 update is headed your way and should be winging to your device sometime soon. Here's a taster of some of the best bits you can expect to see:
- Optimised battery life with new monitoring options and indicators
- FM Radio does not require any network connection so can you listen to local FM stations (Z30, Q10 or Q5 smartphone)
- Offline Browser Reading Mode lets you save the current web page for later viewing, even if you are offline.
- Lock Screen Notifications are now actionable, so you can respond to important messages more quickly or discreetly.

Ohh, and as well as the above... We're making a small change of our own. The 2G network switch will be making a comeback with this update.
So, when's it coming? Soon - We currently hope for it to be before the end of the month and quite possibly next week, but we'll keep you in the loop if we hear of any delays.
Looking forward to the new update? What feature are you looking forward to most?

Hi guys,
As I get more info I'll share it, but for now all I have is that this update is the same as before, but with a few added bug fixes and the added 2G switch-back option.
Hope that helps

Just doing the update as I type this!

I can confirm we now have "2G Only" back as an option in the cellular network settings. No "3G Only" option though like we used to have
As well as that, in Networks and Connections we now have an IMS Status option. Its disabled for me but from what I can gather it is an architecture framework used for delivering IP/voIP/Multimedia data/information to mobile users. It seems to be geared more for Enterprise users though.
Other than that it feels even snappier but that could just be my mind playing tricks on me.
I'll see what Bluetooth is like once I get in my car, one of the last few updates completely changed how the phone connects to my car and how it behaves when it is.

Since it was myself that put this thread out I just wanted to pop back in with a small apology around the mix-up/confusion. I believed it to be a new update bringing new features but it was a minor point-release with the main change being the 2G-Only switch.
I know some folk like to hold onto older updates until new ones have been in the wild for a few months to ensure they don't catch any bugs or issues, so if you're not yet on 10.2.1.x, see my original post for the features and changes you're likely to see if you do make the step to update to this from a pre 10.2.1 update.
RE: BB OS 10.3... This is something you should be seeing later in the year but as of yet, no solid or even estimated dates but i'll be sure to keep y'all up to date on that one.

Apart from the settings PapaDug has already mentioned I haven't noticed much of a difference yet, it remains to be seen if there's any improvement in general usage.
Edit: as @Chris_K replied as I was typing

since this update my Z30 has become ridicously snappy, frames minimise and close quicker and apps launch more quickly as well
Definitely a nice little improvement, onwards to 10.3 now!
