I feel REALLY old.
I had the bigger version of the motorola brick in 1992. The utterly indestructable 8500x.
Mine was run over by a bus after I left it on the car roof lol.
20p per min to any number.

One summer holiday, when I was about 7 years old, me and my best friend Phil used 2 empty tins of Ambrosia creamed rice and a piece of string to communicate between our shed and the tree house at the bottom of our garden.......does that count ?

pre mobile phones I used to use amateur radio equipment I even had a hand held that allowd transmission on one band and reception on another band 2m/70cm so you could have real 2 way calls. How tech evolved I even had a small box that connected me to an early form of mobile data called packet Radio http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Packet_radio .

The pinhole in the end of the tin of Ambrosia was used to capture the moment but unfortunately over time the sepia print has faded to a washed out pink colour !
