Impressive, @Bambino - not much can stand in the way of a lava flow, it seems. I do wonder why the car was left there, though - some mineralogist in the future's going to have a kitten when they find what's left of the pistons...

Just caught up with this. Horrific! Thousands have been evacuated and likely to lose their homes as a result of the volcanic eruption and this lava flow.
The bottom line, never leave your car or live anywhere near a live volcano.

Waatching this on the news now. It seems that the lava is now about a mile from a geothermal plant that holds thousands of gallons of highly inflammable liquid. Scary!
