Welcome to the Word Hunt Diamond - Game 59

The game is open to all members.

Each week, a grid of nine letters in a diamond will be posted.

The aim of the game is to find the target number of words [as in the source used for the game] using only the letters in the grid.

This week`s "diamond" is as follows:

                                                                                     A

                                                                                 T      U

                                                                              D     E     F

                                                                                  G     I

                                                                                      M

This week`s target is 76 words - using only the letters in the diamond - including one 9-letter word.

The rules:

Each word must contain four letters or more and must include the red letter E.

No proper names are allowed.

Scottish words and American spellings are allowed.

Each letter in the grid can only be used once in each word [for example, FEED is not allowed].

Of course, words do not have to start with the red letter E

Only one word per post.

Please wait until someone else has posted before posting again.

I will endeavour to give regular updates on each page [so as to avoid scrolling back] of the words found and the number of words still to be found.

The Word Hunt Diamond game is open to all members.

I hope the Diamond Dogs of Words [thanks @pgn for the term] - those who have played in previous

Word Hunt Diamond games - including

  @Cleoriff   @pgn   @BobM   @TallTrees  @Anonymous   @Bambino   @gmarkj  @MI5

  @TheresaV   @LukasB   @O2EmmaLouise   @jonsie   @Cairdeas

any member who has not played before, or any new member will join in and play today`s WHD.

Can you, between you, not only find the 76 words in the list [in the source used for this game], and

the nine-letter word, but also find additional words not in the list ?

Good luck everyone and have fun...

@Mi-Amigo

Thanks @Cleoriff

There was a typo on my previous post about the record.

This game started at 08.23 [NOT 08.33] and the last word was found at 10.33 - so it did take 2hrs 10mins

- which is 130 mins to find 76 words

I`ve checked back and the record was in Game 51 - solved in 2hrs 05mins

- which was 125 mins to find 70 words.

Comparing the two games - on mins to find target

- today`s Game 59 - was 130 mins to find 76 words [130 mins divided by 76 words = 1.71 mins per word]

record -  Game 51 - was 125 mins to find 70 words [125 mins divided by 70 words = 1.785 mins per word]

so today`s WHD was solved quicker [based on mins per word]

That's amazing @Mi-Amigo Well done everyone! clap

Thanks for all your maths @Mi-Amigo

As someone who does this every week, I knew it was moving faster than ever as I struggled to keep up and that doesn't usually happen rofl

If you recall, sometimes we have a gap when no-one posts, and I usually have another go. No chance of that today! tongue_winking

Love the post-game analyses, all of'em. 😆
Good game, especially given the spread of players 👍

Mmmmm...see I can't help being nosey @pgn  rofl

Bottom line, I knew this game was moving faster than any other (whatever the record was)

Hence me asking for a breakdown into the number of words to be found.

As my maths are useless and Mi-Amigo had all the figures at his fingertips, I thought it would be an idea to ask the question LOL

Also, into this algorithm swept @BobM who joined earlier than usual. Not forgetting @Bambino who must have made his first post at 04.57am US time. astonished

A lot more players joined in which was good for the game. I rest my case M'Lud. Hero

You make me sound a bit like Superman coming to the rescue @Cleoriff

I can live with that laughing

Have to agree though and for once I was able to be there for the duration and didn't have to disappear for a while.  Plus a few others taking part made it a fast game. Gotta comment on @Mi-Amigo too for keeping up so well.

All in all, was a good game thumbsup

My maths are useless @BobM ...powers of observation are good. I noticed you came earlier than usual and never once waved us goodbye during the game. rofl

Certainly hats off to @Mi-Amigo  who must have thought 'My God' at some point during  the 2 hrs. :kissing_heart

To be honest, it was more "OMG" when I did an update only to find that whilst putting it together a whole load of further answers were posted. So was a bit of leapfrogging to keep the updates up to date and was pleased this didn`t detract too much from the game and the main thing is that everyone enjoyed it.
