What made me happy today...

Hey guys.

In one of my old forums I was a member of (not existing anymore since this year), we had a thread where everybody just told in short what made them happy this day. Thought it would be nice for here too!

To start: I'm working for EMS and my first call today was am expected birth. So we hoped we would be able to bring her into hospital just in time. But it didn't work. I was at the patient and she just said "it's coming"... My team-mate was driving REALLY fast, it took him about an kilometer to brake - during that time the baby was just born. Even we were a really young team and not long into job, we did VERY well and even the doctors told us we did excellent.

(Our last call was a reanimation on the street, the woman did not get an own circulation again.... But I guess that's the circle of life :D)

The swallows / housemartins are swirling around above ... there used to be swifts but their derelict building was modernised so hopefully they have found a new Spring / Summer home

I must admit hearing the birds in the winter my first year here was a surprise to me too @Cleoriff. But I gear them every winter. Never seen them but they sing away whatever the weather, however cold it gets. I love it.

at Abney Park Cemetery I heard birds which I never heard before! (And I'm from the Countryside!)

After months in hospital and towards the end of last summer, the nurses were told to open the window every morning in my room. At first it was nice to hear the irds chirping away, I had missed the dawn chorus. But I tell you what, a couple of months of the birds having been replaced by the damn pigeons cooing, I had to beg the nurses not to open the soddin' window! I mean.....it wasn't as though I smelled....

It's really weird, the things that make you happy. I got up this morning and knew something was different. My windows were open all night and I couldn't hear one bird when I opened the curtains. No wonder, they are obviously as fed up as me and have nothing to sing about....NO SUN TODAY!!

So despite being a house full of windows, it's dark and grim. Grey skies and cold winds. 10c.

I may just go back to bed. Wake me when the sun returns please

Met one of my best friends today, went to subway with her. She invited me then to celebrate my new contract. Had a fun time
