Oh
Would it need to be @MI5 ? The guy who restored it took it on a trailer to Classic car shows. Last we saw it was at Stoneleigh and was on a plinth as it had won best in show. I suppose he could have sold it abroad? The money he spent on it to get it to that condition, I doubt he would have left it to rot!
We saw it not long after we bought our apt in Spain and he said the Stag was worth more than that lol

On a 'N'plate that car would have been on the road in 1975/76 and is exempt from road tax as it's classed as a classic car. In 1996/97 I would guess it started being restored and maybe it was a five year
project, hence it would then qualify as a classic car.
There again, it's only a theory. Maybe @Cleoriff has some ideahaving poken to the owner.

We bought the Triumph Stag in 1982. It cost us £6750. It was a status symbol really as my husband worked at Triumph for years and it was his 'dream car'
After a year it became a bit of a white elephant. The head gasket went and it would have cost us a bomb to sort it out. Also, our lads were growing up and trying to get them in the back was ridiculous.
We sold it at a loss and then the next time we saw it was in 1986 at a classic car show. It looked bloody beautiful. Saw it once more in 1990. This was when it was on this plinth with the bonnet open and an absolutely gleaming engine.
Mind you, these classic car enthusiasts spend £1000's and all their life restoring cars.
All those years ago now, it wouldn't surprise me if it was sold on and went to the USA...
(Unless it is still being put on a trailer to go to motor shows)

Well for me @EmilieT, I can tell you right now it will be streaming and reading, with a bit of watching my recordings.
Have downloaded the final 2 seasons of Scandal (6 and 7) so will be streaming a bit of that in addition to Killing Eve, Riverdale and Criminal Minds.
Haven't been reading much lately but got back into my present book in the early hours of this morning and read 170 pages. So am back to reading with a vengeance.
So that's my weekend planned
Enjoy your family wedding and lots of photos, please
