I always turn my mattress with the seasons, and I thought it was 1st December 2016
I was going by the meteorological seasons though, as explained in this article by the Met Office:

Well to me winter is when it's cold and summer when it is hot....anything inbetween is spring and autumn though it's quite difficult with the British weather, Indian summers and early frost!. God I quite miss that...

Sorry guys but I love winter as long as it doesn't snow. Lovely to look at but if like me walking is difficult means you don't get out. It rarely snows in London, of course. And when it does you know it's a bad winter. So happy winter to me.
Well I hate it @Glory1. I think I invented SADS disorder. . Anyway I shall be clearing off back to Spain in February. ( unless Ryanair chooses to divert via Timbuktu) but that's a whole different story

Happy Winter to you @Bambino & All ... it has been very foggy here, grey & cold, so I simply don't go out, the wind is up & rattling the back plate of the gas fire in the living room ... I'm a Spring & Autumn person so am happy to know the days are getting longer & lighter from today

@jonsie when is it actually winter where you are now and how cold(?) does it get?
Winter here is June when temperatures drop as low as 26, then we have the rainy season in September.Temperatures never drop below 28 during the day, only late at night when they can go as low as 22.
