I do not understand hunting of any living creature. I find it sick to get pleasure from killing any living creature. Sorry I just don't get it.

As for Jeremy Hunt and Boris Johnson, they are as bad as each other. Unfortunately  I think, God help us, we'll get Boris.

It seems incongruous @Glory1

that the British Government  are supporting the protection of the Elephants, Rhino and Whales  but

the potential PM is promoting the unnecessary trophy hunting of our foxes.

I wouldn't mind but the so called law against Fox Hunting never gained any ground whatsoever. Illegal hunts go on throughout the season with the authorities turning a blind eye.

Talking about hunting of another kind, I got up to a dining room full of feathers this morning. It appears Gizmo, my cat, has been out hunting for himself :frowning2:

I could understand the hunting of a pest/invader species, but only if causing an issue. I wonder if the rumour is to try and drum up support within the party to edge ahead in the race (cynical hat on).
We get lots of feathers, but not many of the thing they come on @Cleoriff - so far just the one that I know of...

Yes all I vacced up were feathers @gmarkj ....and Gizmo wasn't that interested in the breakfast I served up, so no doubt in my eyes as to who was the guilty party

No real surprise that Hunt proposes a "free" vote on re-introducing fox hunting. The Tories suck up to the landed gentry who fund them.

Instead of fox hunting, let`s have drag hunting - tie a huntsman to a landrover!!! :rage:

No @TallTrees it makes no sense at all. The thing is foxes are viewed as vermin. So killing them is viewed as a good thing.

Personally, killing any living creature is wrong. I don't understand wanting to kill a living creature that did you no harm. And to get pleasure from killing is totally sick.

But the law on the banning of fox hunting has never been properly enforced. In fact, it's never been enforced at all.  So what was the point of it.

Hello @gmarkj

I think there is some confusion.

The Farmers and Land owners have the right to shoot vermin including foxes causing trouble.

Hunting for a sport or pleasure and setting a pack of hounds on the fox is a completely

different issue, this is what I object to.

Hello @Mi-Amigo

absolutely unnecessary to make that statement like that by Hunt and shocking that he feels

that setting a pack of hounds on a fox is acceptable, he is sick and yes is sucking up to

any Landed Gentry but Tories need votes too eventually and  they will need to realise

that this is unacceptable.  Land Owners can shoot vermin and foxes this is what by humans

is called a humane way of disposing of vermin.

Free vote you are right ~
and ~ probably won't get through, but you know me I am appalled.
