I really haven't a clue this series!

Robobunny I'm kind of thinking Craig Charles or Robert Llewelyn from Red Dwarf based on earlier clues but last night's ending clue on the VT said "5,6,7,8" which is a Steps song and we came up with H. Also the clue "back at the ranch" might hint at a country star BUT just by chance I was watching a space program later (For all Mankind on Apple TV) and that actually referred to earth. Here's the random leap: which actor has been in space, played a tv cop, played as a cowboy (the boots) and has had er, a singing career? None other than William Shatner! But no, I'm going to go for Bruce Willis....who's played all of those roles (Armageddon, Die Hard & Last man standing) and there's a clue in "hare today, gone tomorrow" which, points to his hair loss from his singing days back in the 80's to Die Hard where he had none.

Mushroom: Charlotte Church. Right at the end of the song the lyrics change to "the welsh thing I could do". Can't think of anyone else who has that range of vocals who is welsh.

So we know the eliminated Lionfish was Will Young. He really must have disguised his voice as I loved that guy.

I didn't recognise him at all. I voted for him countless times on Pop Idol when he was up against Gareth Gates.  I can remember him giving Simon Cowell a real b/o/ll/o/c/k/i/n/g after a performance which Simon called average. 😂 (Piece of reality TV history right there) Simon actually took it in his stride anf congratulated Will for standing his ground.

I'm actually not convinced about the viewer vote on this show. Simply because I can't understand why people are saving Doughnut week after week.  That's 2 real singers and one non singer eliminated so far.

All fun and games though, audience voting has long been a staple of all types of talent shows since TV began. Its completely pointless in this show.

20 years since Pop Idol! Great format at the time but sadly abused with the spin-offs and the end result of wannabe talent shows that spawned Honey G. Anyway, think we're now due for a "Whatever happened to Pop Idols" program now. Or worse, another one of them could be a Masked Singer....

Thank you @Cleoriff for the songs in tonight`s show.

Sat 15 Jan 2022 - Love Special

POODLE; ROCKHOPPER; BAGPIPES; TRAFFIC CONE; PANDA

POODLE = clues - annums; dog collar

panel guessed Mika or Peter Crouch

ROCKHOPPER = clues - full speed ahead; talkative

panel guessed Zara Larsson; Jamelia; Fleur East

BAGPIPES = clues - tennis

panel guessed Pat Cash; Joe Wicks; John McEnroe

TRAFFIC CONE = clues - breaks rules; hint at comedian

panel guessed Jack Whitehall; Jimmy Carr; Lee Evans; Bradley Walsh

PANDA = TWOFL ???

panel guessed Kate Hudson; Amanda Holden

Audience vote save = Traffic Cone; Panda; Rockhopper

Sing - off = Poodle and Bagpipes with Panel voting to save POODLE

Unmasked = BAGPIPES - Pat Cash.

In my opinion, Bagpipes and Poodle shouldn`t have been in the bottom two and sing off; and bottom two should have been Traffic Cone and Panda.

My favourite performance of the night was Rockhopper, singing "Love Is A Losing Game", who I think is Fleur East.

I wasn't really bothered about who was in the bottom two as long as it wasn't Rockhopper. Not sure who she is but is definitely a real singer. (There again, last week I thought she was Michelle Keegan!)

I thought either Ashley Roberts or Lulu 😂 Lovely Amy Winehouse song which she performed well.

Bagpipes I guessed the same as Jonathan Ross and thought it was John McInroe (although I knew Pat Cash was a wannabee rock singer)

I thought the rest of the performances varied form OK to mediocre.

No idea who any of tonight's performers were if honest.

I think they are all singing next week.

Rock Hopper kind of gets me thinking its Rebecca Ferguson (X factor thing I think?) but in the post performance clip, she is definitely not a native english speaker. Then again Rebecca Ferguson is from Liverpool 😂 My father suggested Emili Sande. Which was a surprise as he's usually hopeless at modern artists past 1970. Oh for a random guess, the blonde one from Ace of Base.

Poodle: Mika looks a certainty but jumping randomly, I can't help thinking its Darius Danesh. Clues: his height and he's got a wide range of vocals (Popstar to Opera Star remember that?) plus he's done busking. And wait for this one: the middle clue about colours could be a reference to his album Colourblind. Third clue was a reference to being idolised and that points to Pop Idol.

Thanks for the write-up @Cleoriff

Even with the song clues, it`s getting harder to work out who is behind the mask.

I agree with some of your suggestions and my thoughts are

Donuts = Michael Owen

Panda = Amanda Holden [if it is her, I really hope she doesn`t win, I can`t stand her]

Traffic Cone = Bradley Walsh.

In my opinion, disappointing performance from Rockhopper, so not sure who it is ?

Others ? Totally confused...

@Mi-Amigo

So funny to have two different opinions re Rockhopper. To me, she was the performer of the night 😂 Shared with Mushroom.
