Yeah I like Masterchef. And it could just be me but I immediately thought of Masterchef watching this first episode. I'm trying to remember how GBBO was set up on BBC1 and if it was the same on channel 4.

Yeah he made me want to be sick and I don't think he and Sandi Toksvig gel. She is very clever and funny. He is just revolting with not one redeeming quality.

Watched it...Don't like the new team... but I do like watching the efforts of the contestants.......(good and bad..)
One BIG disadvantage. It's Ch4 so we have adverts. A bit like their coverage of F1...

Agree on both points @Cleoriff. Loved the watermelin cake and the BLT I thought both were amazingly well executed. I'd be happy to be able to bake half as good.

Well listening them talking about GBBO on The Wright Stuff. Apparently it got 6 million viewers compared to BBC 14 million. However Ch 4 say they only need 2 mill more viewers to break even. Most people who phoned in said they enjoyed the show...except for the adverts....14 minutes of them apparently...

The joys of commercial television stations. Say what you like about the BBC but you enjoy uninterrupted coverage. F1 was a prime example. Channel 4 ruined it by cutting to adverts at key moments. So the GBBO needs 2 more million viewers to break even.... how does that work?

And ITV ruined football coverage in my opinion.... This is the joy of having catch up on TV...no adverts then...or vastly reduced
