2014 introduced many tech things (iPhone 6, 3D TV, Samsgun Galaxy tab), but unfortunately it also said goodbye to some much loved tech things, such as MSN Messenger. I used to like MSN Messenger and I don't like Skype so I just don't use it anymore. I guess Facebook chat is the next best thing.
Here is a list of the main things that have disappeared this year:
- MSN Messenger
- iPod Classic - my very first iPod (black and white)
- Plasma TV
- Windows XP (I quite like Windows 8 now but my mum still uses Vista).
- Nokia (i've never owned a Nokia phone so I can't comment on the pros/cons).
Is there anything from that list that you will miss? Is there something missing from that list?

I'm hoping we don't say goodbye to Nokia. Recent media about new avenues their looking at like mergers will hopefully work.
I stopped using Windows at Windows 7 stage and use OS X Yosimite so I personally won't miss XP - although I think XP was the best imo.

I didn't like Windows 7 when it was first introduced but after a while I got used to it and then when Windows 8 came out I found it easy-ish to use. My only little issue is that I look at my laptop more like a tablet because the main home screen is in app form so I don't use that bit much. However it's easy to just switch to the standard desktop version.

I loved XP and I'm sorry it's gone. I use Windows 7 and, even though my laptop is a bit temperamental, I'm digging in my heels as I hate Windows 8.
(My husband laughs at me and says I'd still be using Windows 98 if I could!)

Thanks for the info BoB. I'll carry on using Windows 7 until the laptop dies or it's no longer supported. I'm hoping then I might be able to get a Mac.
I'll carry on dreaming for now!

You're Welcome.
I consider it personally for me to be the best move I made from Windows to a Mac / OS X

All our laptops are still running WiN 7. My other half doesnt like Win 8 at all....(though he does have one on standby should the worst happen)
Luckily he builds and repairs laptops, so knows his way 'round' some things. I just leave all that to him.
As they say...'when it's gone...it's gone'...

Isn't support being / going to be stopped for windows 7 ? http://www.pcworld.com/article/2462643/what-happens-when-microsoft-ends-windows-7-mainstream-support-next-year.html No need to worry just yet.
I thought they would be offering support for Windows 7 for a while longer......
