Tech News : SanDisk SD memory card 'largest ever

Anonymous
Not applicable
Headline : SanDisk SD memory card 'largest ever.

Excerpt from the Link "Memory specialist SanDisk has created an SD card with 512 gigabytes (512GB) of storage space - the highest capacity ever released.

The card, which is the size of a postage stamp, will go on sale for $800 (£490)."

My thoughts :

Would a smartphone ever be able to accept this gigantic SD card capacity.

I can't see anyone needing that sort of storage unless it's for video and high resolution photos and to be honest I wouldn't feel safe with all that important stuff on a flimsy sd card wink

Well as it's SD and not micro SD it's not going to fit any phone unless the manufacturers make a slot for it ot it's in an OTG adapter.

I could see these being used to boost the storage on a laptop or netbook however with an SDXC slot, as well as it's use for video in cameras.
