@jonsie Do you get a winter or rainy season in Thailand or is it just sun all year round?

It's winter now until November which is the high season here when prices go way up for hotels. The only difference believe it or not, is that temperatures go up to an average of 36-37 degrees and it rains more. Good for me as I haven't seen rain for weeks so it's more than welcome. However, rain means that water levels rise to three feet or more because the Thai drains cannot cope. This photo taken last year in November and believe me, the water level went to chest height and we had to abandon the car and walk 3kms to get to the hotel. Seriously, my wife paid two taxi drivers to help me because the water was rushing towards us alarmingly. Where I live now we don't have a problem about rain, the drains here are good.
You take your shoes off and hold your phone and tablet up in the air and heaven knows what you step on. You can see the colour of the water.....everything you see floating by but it's what's underneath squelching through your toes tht's the problem.
