@jonsie wrote:I've changed channel too, watching Parker on Channel 5. Truth is we played 2 poor teams we should have beaten as expected. Belgium are a good team and they also made 9 changes. Their team tonight would have given our 1st choice eleven a game. We are unlikely to beat Columbia next Tuesday.....
The early optimism has been tempered by a dose of reality

It never ceases to amaze me how the public gets overexcited after a couple of easy wins Let's be honest, the papers fuel this patriotic fervour. There is hope in the air but it's false hope. We big ourselves up but our over rated stars dont have the skills of the likes of Brazil, Argentina, Spain, France.....and Belgium.
I'm not trying to spread doom and gloom. I'm just a realist

The BBC well, for some bizarre reason they got someone to produce this last week which proves your point @jonsie:

and they wonder why the other home nations dislike England. Its not the team thats disliked, its the media going on about it!
Anyway, anyone who's watched Columbia will realise they will quickly take advantage and score and press hard towards the end to make sure they get something. About the same stage England slip up. Expect a few long balls to be heading (literally) in Harry Kane's direction. Actually looking forward to that game as both teams are an interesting complement to each other.

When we went out tonight it was half time 0-0
Sat down for our meal and the TV was on in the bar. A great cry from someone yelling oh you bloody muppet, told us all we needed to know.
The TV pundits pre match stating Southgate was brave changing the team and how admirable it was. Post match? Complete change of tune.
Ah well....

Really enjoyed that game. Brazil vs France would be a good final though I haven't looked if the draw makes that possible....

So France will play either Portugal or Uruguay (Uruguay who have just scored 7 mins into the game!!)
