Police debunk "myth" that ringing 999 charges mobile phones

Got this earlier from the Plusnet forum.

Stupid people are ringing 999 on their phones because they think it charges their phones.

999 calls are free anyway, even if you're on PAYG and have no credit left.

Why are some people so stupid?!

The link has nothing to do with the cost of a call to 999, so why did you mention that in your OP?

The point you're making has nothing to do with the link, so no, it didn't go 'over my head'.
