Good to hear from you @Pennywren
I can well understand how time-consuming your new role must be and wish you every success with your new position; and that your personal circumstances might mean we won`t see your lovely poems quite as often for a little while.
That said, thank you for your latest poem, which sums up late summer into autumn for me. Love the images.
Keep safe and take care.

We share something then @Pennywren. I suffer badly in the winter months. Have done for years. I used to joke with my staff that I 'invented' Seasonal Affective Disorder' (SAD'S). I just make sure I make use of any natural light available. I did consider buying a sun lamp but then changed my lounge lighting. It is now as bright as day. I have a 5 light pendant in the middle of the ceiling and 2 double light wall lamps. Making a total of 9 lights when they are all on. I dislike dim lights with a passion.
Anyway, being busy like yourself, is always helpful. I no longer work but I know when I did, i was so tired at the end of a shift, the darkness of winter affected me less.
Anyway, pop back and visit when you can as it's always lovely to hear from you ❤️
PS your last poem is beautiful....the end of summer. Autumn can be beautiful as well with the changing leaf colours. x

There is a heaviness in my heart
And pain that almost drowns me.
Why am I so pathetic?
The sadness wells inside
As you hate me for my actions.
Is it wrong to be in love?
Is it wrong to want freedom at 31?
I'm trapped
I'm smothered.
Why is it wrong to spend time with my love?
Is that really selfish?
There is lead in my stomach
And pain in my heart.
I wonder why I always upset my family.
It's about now that I end up blaming myself.
What did I do wrong to make you mad?
Why would falling in love cause you so much pain and hurt?

Thinking of you @Pennywren
Wishing you some ... would it be alright to say ... inner peace / peace of mind ? to soothe how you feel right now
Hope you have whatever night you would wish for yourself xx

Thank you all for your kindness. Everyone's words made such a difference and it means the world to me.
It's been one heck of a rollercoaster but think things are improving a bit.
I had my 3 month review as acting manager on Wednesday afternoon and I'm really excited to say that I have been offered the job for manager permanently 😊
May all you wishes come true and sending hugs as thanks to this wonderful community 💖🤗

Well that's just great news @Pennywren. See? There is no need to doubt yourself when it's obvious others think highly off you. Well done. Really delighted for you. ❤️

It is National Poetry Day in the UK. So, I thought I would post a poem I wrote previously 😃.
Trouble in the Garden
Close your eyes to be lost at sea,
Outside is your garden, is reality.
Find shelter and listen as hail hits,
Just bad weather, not in a blitz.
Watch nature drown in a fight against floods,
Plant pots overflowing, not spilt blood.
Feel fear from the intruding sounds,
Conservatory creaks, no danger around.
Sunsets allude to the loneliest nights,
Don’t worry, the moon is shining bright.
Open your eyes and burst the bubble,
Be happy, don’t go looking for trouble.
