Hi all.

Encouraged by 2 fab community members to create this new topic. Hope you like.
Thought this could be a nice space to share some of the poems we have written and inspire each other with our creativity. Poems are a way for me to voice whats going on in my head especially when my anxiety has left me feeling somewhat foggy headed.

Hope you enjoy reading and sharing your work.

Pennywren 😊

Lovely poem @Pennywren

Well done on being accepted as acting store manager on 12 week trial and I hope it becomes a permanent position for you [if that`s what you want].

Good to have you - and your poems - back with us smiling

Thank you both of you 😊
I never really saw myself as possible manager but then I started doing duty manager more and more frequently so it was kind of right to at least try to go for it permanently.

Stand by me,
Day or night.
Stand by me,
No matter what.
When things get tough
I reach out my hand.
Don't let me fall.
The darkness lingers near,
Ab ever present cloud.
I paste on a smile
For the world to see.
I hide the tiredness and fear,
To protect the one I love.
I pretend I'm ok, I'm fine.
In reality....I don't know.
The facade is back;
Don't know the real me anymore.
Words pour forth,
From within my soul.
I'm hollow inside,
Want to cry.
No tears fall.
....broken and empty.
So alone even with others...
I don't belong.
Just pretending I belong.
Soon people will realise....
Realise I don't belong

Yeah @Cleoriff I'm ok. Just occasionally my mood takes a bit of a nose dive. So what with working longer hours, anxiety and the great desire not to let people down, things get too much at times and I can revert to my old ways when I withdraw, feel numb and just want to sleep all the time. Things will get better I know but til then I'm kind of in limbo as I never quite know if my anxiety will swing more to emptiness or just a feeling of emptiness

I suspect you are now in the new job @Pennywren?

Just remember, you were the one chosen to take on more responsibility. You were chosen because you are good at what you do. Why would you let anyone down?

I wish I could  wave a magic wand to get rid of your concerns but I can't. You just have to change your own mindset. Instead of worrying as to whether you are good enough.....you should be thinking,

'Hey, I'm pretty good at this ....Go me'...

All the very best. You will get there soon, I'm sure heart

Stars shine in the indigo sky,

The moon a perfect pearl.

The eddy and swirl of the celestial lights,

Create a myriad of colours.

The gentle hum of life,

The music to their dance.

Sparkle and spark

Fizz and hum.

Life goes on around us.

Planets spin in their eternal dance

Timings set to angelic music.

Clouds of stars

Nebula of colour,

Mystifying, ethereal

A delight to the senses.

A carpet of stars

Each on a jewel:

Precious, eternal,

A sight to behold.

Cherish this sight

It's beauty is for all to see.

The indigo sky

A perfect canvas

To show the beauty

Of the night.

Thank you for your kind words..

I think that I have re found my creative spark. It's been a rollercoaster but things are settling down at work and with any luck, as things stand, by October the manager job will be mine permanently. I'm starting to get belief in myself and people like you and @Cleoriff have helped enormously
