Hi all.

Encouraged by 2 fab community members to create this new topic. Hope you like.
Thought this could be a nice space to share some of the poems we have written and inspire each other with our creativity. Poems are a way for me to voice whats going on in my head especially when my anxiety has left me feeling somewhat foggy headed.

Hope you enjoy reading and sharing your work.

Pennywren 😊

Pain

The emptiness in my heart runs deep,
The numbness seeps into my bones.
The dull ache in my back,
The blow still fresh in my mind.
Why did you do it?
I did you no wrong.
I called you friend
Thats how you repay me.
We were teens,
Young and foolish.
I longed for friends,
The pain still lingers,
A reminder of my foolishness.
I try to trust.
I try not to cry.
I stand on the outside,
Looking in.
Life continues turning without me,
While I stay,
Locked in the moment,
All time fractured,
Splintering,
Lost and alone.

Sorry @Cleoriff there is a lot of pain and hurt in my heart right now. Anxiety and uncertainty is causing more confusion. I know if I bottle it up again it will make things worse. I hold on to the pain and it ends up making me worse.

Very sad @Pennywren and so sorry to hear of your pain.

I hope that by putting your feelings into the poem helps in some way and is a release, no matter how small.

My attempt at a limerick...

Rock And Roll Show

The dog and the pig

Went to a gig

The Beatles came out

Sang "Twist & Shout"

And the cow danced a jig

Sang "Hey Jude"

Which got quite rude

The little sheep

Took off her fleece

And danced in the nude

That's excellent @Mi-Amigo

'Hey Diddle Diddle'

The cat had a fiddle and

The cow jumped over the moon rofl

Mine was more inspired by or a nod to The Owl & The Pussy Cat but I agree @Cleoriff some nursery rhymes were weird and I wonder if Little Miss Muffet and Insy Winsy Spider caused any spider phobias?

Yes I did think of the Owl and the Pussycat as well.wink

Regarding old rhymes, one of the worst was Ring a Ring Roses. Means nothing to kids nowadays but lore has it,  that it pertained to the plague.

The 'roses' are the red blotches on the skin. The 'posies' are the sweet-smelling flowers people carried to try to ward off the plague. 'Atishoo' refers to the sneezing fits of people with pneumonic plague.

We played it as kids and had no idea of it's meaning.

Also Three Blind Mice was a blumming horror story. joy
