Poetry Corner

Hi all.

Encouraged by 2 fab community members to create this new topic. Hope you like.
Thought this could be a nice space to share some of the poems we have written and inspire each other with our creativity. Poems are a way for me to voice whats going on in my head especially when my anxiety has left me feeling somewhat foggy headed.

Hope you enjoy reading and sharing your work.

Pennywren 😊

Sunrise

The sun rising above a sea of cloud,
Casting a vibrant glow.
The firey disc casting deepest shadow,
Like light and dark, to and fro,
Opposites combine in perfect harmony.

Re: Poetry Corner

Ice

Blue skies,
Frozen ground,
My breath mists before me.
Icy out,
There is no sound,
The birds hidden in the tree.
Wrapped up warm,
Blankets out,
Layers of fluffy softness.
Trees are bare,
Snowdrops poking out the ground.
Tiny buds begin to appear,
Maybe spring is nearly here.
Sun sparkles on the frost,
Each blade of grass twinkles.
Can I sleep til spring is here?
When warmth comes first,
And lambs appear.
When darkness gives way to light.

@Pennywren

Your poem "Ice" truly creates the images in my mind of what you describe.

You are very talented.  Thank you for sharing this with us.

My attempt, written a few minutes ago

The Night Stalker

Silent steps along deserted streets

Prints in snow beneath the feet

Hurrying to shelter from the damp

Long shadow cast by street lamp

As it is not yet dawn

Over garden gate, across the lawn

And a few steps more

To the mat by the door

And waits and gives a purr

With bright eyes in feline fur

Re: Poetry Corner

Wow Mi-Amigo 😊😊. How beautiful a poem. I'm not great at poems that actually rhyme, just more putting thoughts to words and letting them create the picture I desire in your mind.
