You certainly don't have to post them all and I fully understand your concern about upsetting others.
Just post the poems you feel are appropriate. It doesn't have to be a daily thing either, just as and when you feel up to it. Poetry is an outlet for expression.
There may be some you want to keep to yourself and that's absolutely fine.
You will see in the off topic section there are threads which have been running for years. The Virtual Lounge is one of those. Started originally in 2014 HERE and is a place where we chat about anything and everything. On some evenings, it turns into a Virtual Bar... where we meet and have a 'drink'.
As we said before, there is something for everyone in Off Topic and you can dip in and out when you like.
Just enjoy and take everything at your own pace.

Love that one @pgn 😄 flows beautifully
Thank you, @Pennywren - I enjoy reading poetry, despite not having enjoyed it, mostly, at school. I hope this thread will flourish, poetry can be an incredible way of letting off steam and for people to share things that matter to them.

@pgn wrote:The Limerick's poetical form's spurned
Many have striven, less have learned
To rhyme two couplets
With furry puplets
And find they've just crashed and burned!
A thread for poems, how sublime!
Write in stanzas, make'em rhyme,
Each one a ditty,
Oh what a pity
This one I wrote in double-quick time!
I don't have a knack for that @pgn . I didn't enjoy poetry at school and there wasn't an option to encourage young minds to flourish.
However, as time passes, I find myself enjoying a lot of poetry. More time to relax and enjoy I think.

I guess I was lucky at grammar school as I had an English teacher who loved poetry and would read us some less well-known poems and encouraged me to write my own, even though they weren`t very good.
Later, I used to write romantic poems and poems about nature and wildlife for girlfriends. That said, it`s been a long time since I put pen to paper, so I`m grateful to @Pennywren for creating this thread and for the opportunity to start writing poems again and to share them on this lovely thread but more than that, to have the chance to read the contributions of others.

Never really written poetry much before. Only recently has it become something that I have been able to do. Sometimes I struggle to put my thoughts into words and that's when the poetry seems to happen. I can't really say if they are any good but if others can get enjoyment out of what I write then I feel like I have achieved something.
Turn to you
Like a flower leaning towards the sun,
I turn to you.
Be it busy times or ones of fun,
I turn to you.
You are like my guide star,
I turn to you.
Be you near or be you far,
I turn to you.
Like the glittering of a butterfly wing,
I turn to you.
The jewel of happiness you bring,
I turn to you.
When I am scared by my side you stand,
I turn to you.
And towards me you reach out your hand
I turn to you.

Poignant, @Pennywren - echoes of a younger Sinead O'Connor floating through my head as I read these lovely lines.

Thank you all for your kind words, especially @pgn and the comparison to Sinead O'Connor. I write to unload my feelings. They are not that special, just a way to express myself. If others can enjoy my words all the better 😄 we even had a competition at work to make either videos, poetry etc based on sleep and products we sell. This is the one I created for work:
Sleep
Oh where oh where is sleep,
I weep.
At night my demons come out to play,
Will they go or will they stay?
I need help its true,
Is it me or is it you?
I have tried valerian tea
But its not for me
And its a no go for 5-htp.
To be in sleeps warm embrace,
To wake up fresh faced…
A dream too far…?

"Come sweet slumber
Enshroud me in thy purple cloak
Hmmm, doesn't even rhyme"
Not my words, but those of Matt Frewer as "Max Headroom" - how does an artificial character in a computer world sleep without being completely lost?
One of those tracks that just worms its way into your head...
