Zero-day flaw haunts IE 8 for 7 months and counting
An Internet Explorer 8 vulnerability goes unfixed by Microsoft for more than half a year, reports the Zero Day Initiative.

I can't believe this still has not been rectified.

I have two laptops this could affect. Not good.

Are you actually still using IE8 on your laptops?

Is there a reason you haven't upgraded IE or using a different (and better) browser?

Probably the same reason other members keep changing their version of IE due to glitches and different aspects of the various versions they may not like.

I use many browsers but that's not the point imo. The issue exists and should have been plugged by now

I use Chrome as I find it faster and more user friendly than IE. However, there is no excuse for Microsoft not fixing this once it was known about. The system we use at work isn't compatible with the most up to date IE so we have no choice but to use the older version.

I agree, the issue should have been resolved by now and is a major problem.

I asked the questions because the problem is only really an issue if someone is using IE. If an alternative browser is used then the problem is minimal and should never affect them.
