Interview Questions

Apparently these are the most common interview questions:

Tell me about yourself.

Why did you leave your last job?

What has been your biggest achievement in your career?

What would you say is your greatest weakness?

Why do you want to work in our company?

Have you asked or been asked any other questions? Any completely random questions?

I was once asked: if I was on a desert island and I was allowed 3 people with me (dead or alive), who would I bring with me.

What ever happened to the simple, less tricky, non-random questions like why do you want the job lol

That's how you end up employing muppets wink

Nobody is a muppet.

And asking the other questions mentioned does not guarantee that the perfect candidate will be chosen.

People I come across at work or in daily life - I wonder why anyone would employ them in the first place let alone continue to employ them after their consultation period. Trouble is these days it's so difficult to get rid of anyone in the workplace they have to be super strict and picky at the interview stage.
All interviewing these days is designed to put candidates out of their comfort zone to see how they react to different situations.

RE: iPod question. I'm not sure knowing about analogue anomalies, fletcher-munson logarithmic scales or the perceived SNR would be really useful in generic situations. Maybe a hi-fi shop though or some music technology sales outlet.

I agree anticipated - an employer knowing what music I have in my iTunes library has nothing to do with the legal jobs I apply to and it shouldn't matter whether I listen to (what they think is good) music as it wouldn't affect my job
