Decades, like millennia, can be difficult to quantify. One thing we all agree on however, is:

Well it doesn't feel like a new year apart from the **** on tv. Anyway have a good one everybody.

Caught a bit of the fireworks on the iplayer which was probably impressive but the BBC decided that Craig David would be the lead up so I lost interest in watching it. Especially I forgot it was delayed by about 90 seconds which made the Craig David thing more tedious when it went past midnight and they started talking to him. Then for some bizarre reason, they put on some er, rap or something as backing music to the fireworks. Same with the fireworks at Edinburgh, some pointless music playing over the fireworks.
Jools Holland show seems more and more enjoyable each year I catch a bit of it. I'll make a point of watching it completely at the end of this year rather than the fireworks.
Anyway, I never noticed it was the end of a decade and still didn't twig whilst reading several articles about the last decade over the last few days. Note: I was not drinking either!

Don't worry @sheepdog, the fireworks were NOT impressive. (neither was Craig David).
Unless you were stood the other side of the Thames where the cameras kept panning to, the smoke from said display covered most of them. The BBC have shown highlights which are 'highly' edited to show the good bits.
Also the music accompanying the display was pathetic. The only part I heard was 'football's coming home' (Yeah Right!!)
Also, like you, I felt cheated with Craig David leading us into the New Year. When you think of previous artists who have entertained with great shows, I wondered why they had decided to dig him out of obscurity.
