Hi everyone,

I hope you're all having a lovely Friday so far, with the long bank holiday weekend just around the corner!

I know a lot of you are avid fans of Sci-Fi, Fantasy, Super-heroes, movies, shows, games and fun/interesting sagas and universes in general so I'm sure you will happily join me in celebrating

        Geek Pride day!

This day also falls on Towel Day (for fans of Douglas Adams' work), People's Revolution Day (for Terry Pratchett's fans), and Star Wars' theatrical debut anniversary. An all-around very happy day if you ask me smile

So what is your favourite universe?

The classic and timeless Star Wars universe? Robin's Hobb Realm of the Elderlings? An MMORPG or open-world game? There are countless options!

Lookign forward to your replies, and have a lovely weekend everyone smiling

@EmilieT I'm a Star Wars/Star Trek geek. Ĺove all the Marvel and DC Comics super heroes. Then there's Game of Thrones. Sorry but I also love JK Rowling's world of Harry Potter. In short if it's sci fi, fantasy or horror I want to see it or read it. These genres take me out of the every day and into a fantastical or scary world where anything can, and does, happen and I love it.

Wishing you and all in the community a very happy Bank Holiday weekend. Enjoy it folks, there's not another one till August.

@Anonymous That's a gorgeous image astonished I had never heard of this fantasy book series, once I am done with the Robin Hobb ones from the Realm of the Elderlings I might well give it a go ...

@Glory1 So many universes, all of them I love too! No need to apologize for liking Harry Potter, I have been repeatedly to the Warner Bros studios and have even been to the Wizarding World Universal park in Orlando last year. I know a lot of people debate books VS movies on this one, but personally I just love the universe as a whole smiling

It's tough choosing just ONE favourite universe but at the moment I'd say Azeroth, or just in general the universe of World of Warcraft (the video game I play). Other than that, I love the universe of Stargate SG1, and also Harry Potter. When I finished the books I continued via fanfiction for a long time, and I confess I'm not sure what's "real" (as in in the actual books) and what's fiction (fanfiction) anymore. open_mouth grin

Oh and of course: Star Trek!!

@Anonymous What's Earthsea about? It sounds vaguely familiar. I wonder if I've read this as a child perhaps!

@EmilieTI envy you having visited The Wizarding World in Orlando. I visited Orlando over 20 years ago and stayed in Disneyworld at a Disney resort. I had a great time visiting all the parks including Universal. I went during Christmas and New Year so it was even more magical. When the Wizarding World opened I so wanted to go, it looked fantastic.

@Marjo I would have guessed Azeroth and Star Trek, both beautiful and very different smiling

@Glory1 Christmas-time must have been absolutely fantastic there! I went over Halloween, and they had oragen and purple decorations all over Disneyworld, and scary ones over Universal. It was a lot of fun, but I would really liek to go again over another season/holiday to see the change in both parks Bouncy
