Re: Family at Christmas time

I think Christmas has such great expectations which are not totally realistic and we seem to be wound up by all the advertising of glossy presents etc. and the expensive extra ordinary food which is over packaged with Christmassy covers. When truly all that is needed is a happy uncomplicated time with less pressure to be perfect.

Absolutely spot on @JAZZ-trad

Been there and done that for years. Nowadays I would rather take the family out for a meal and let others take the strain...

Re: Family at Christmas time

The big problem these days is that there is so much pressure on you to enjoy Christmas with all the programmes and advertising showing what a good time everyone is having and should be having. In truth it puts a big strain on peoples' finances as they try to buy their kids the latest tech and branded trainers.

There is far too much peer pressure at schools and in the work place.

Yes, the modern Christmas and I do feel sorry for families trying to make ends meet at this time of year.

And then be out of pocket for the next 6 months.
