Eurovision song contest 2013

Anonymous

Anyone going to be watching this tomorrow night? I might, purely because there's not a lot else on though, as I know for a fact Bonnie Tyler has almost no chance of winning.

The thing that gets me about Eurovision (and apologies in advance to Toby if this looks racist), is that the voting is all Political IMO, all the little tiny Eastern bloc Countries all gang up and vote for each other in return for financial and political favours, and everyone hates the UK because we're in America's back pocket on most International issues.

That being said, I haven't heard Bonnie's song yet, it might be good.

So, anyone want to discuss Eurovision?

I have heard the song Richard and its a bit rubbish! I totally agree about the voting and I cant stand watching it to be humiliated when we come last (or near) We would never win Eurovision even if we put a current British singer or band in that fills stadiums and arenas when their tickets go on sale!

It's a total political joke and has been for years. It should have stopped being televised 20 years ago and I'd rather stick pins in my eyes than watch it.

For anyone wishing to check out this years last place song.....

I don't often watch it but I still believe the reason we don't do better is mainly down to the very poor songs entered by us for years.

With the song writers we have in the UK we could do a lot better.

I record the whole programme and watch the first 20 seconds of each song just to see if there's anything worth a listen, and I rarely find anything. slight_frown

I'm surprised at Bonnie Tyler for thinking she stands a chance this year with such a feeble offering.

Remember that craptastic "Flying the flag" song that was our entry about 5 years ago? I still think whoever created the song wants shooting, at least the rest of Europe actually puts some modicum of effort into their songs.
