Has anyone been watching this marvellous BBC nature programme hosted by the one and only Sir David Attenborough?
It is a follow on from Planet Earth 1 and 11.
https://www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/p06mybwy
It's a one hour programme over 5 episodes.
Five extraordinary animals, battling rivals and the forces of nature for the future of their families.
If you love wildlife you will enjoy this.
It's emotional, brutal and often heartwarming to watch.
Beautiful stunning photography, which we have all come to expect with all Attenborough programmes
Also ends with Sir David telling us how long each episode took to film. Nearly 3 years for the chimpanzee episode. It shows you the camera men and women and their struggles to get the perfect shot.
The final words are from the great man himself. Talking about the loss of the environment for these animals. With the chimps it's due to gold mining in Senegal. The numbers of chimpanzees in this region has been decimated to 200.
If you love David Attenborough, wildlife and care for the environment, this is a must watch series...

I'm playing catch up with them.
Watched Chimpanzees last night and it was brutal, though happy(ish) ending...
Penguins tonight and I think I will need some kleenex at the ready as I have seen an excerpt...

As with all David Attenborough's nature programmes, absolutely superb. I loved lions and thought the photography for penguins amazing.
I am thoroughly enjoying Dynasties. But that goes withour saying when David Attenborough's involved. His nature programmes are second to none, both in content and photography. I've never not enjoyed his programmes. Beautifully photographed and extremely informative. Looking forward to the next episode.

Same here @Anonymous.
You forget the blood sweat and tears that go into making the final one hour cut.
With the chimpanzee episode, they battled 40+c temperatures, were being eaten by all sorts of insects, stranded when the vehicle went into a small ravine. A lot of tracking was done on foot when they couldn't locate the troop they were filming, The wildlife expert they used had been following this particular colony of chimps for 20 years of her life.
That's real dedication.
It was an education to learn how much of the chimps natural habitat had been lost, due to the increase in gold mining in Senegal. This was shown via a helicopter, panning out to film the mining community.
