The first of 12 contestants has been announced for the new series starting in 2021

The judging panel remains the same as last year with Torvill and Dean, AShley Banjo and John Barrowman.

It will be hosted by Phil and Holly.

I read somewhere there will be a change in professional skaters. Not sure of all of them, though I do know that Alex Murphy who partnered Joe Swash to his unexpected win last year, has not been asked to return!

6th contestant announced. As I never listen to Capital Radio, I have never heard of Sonny Jay.

Last time I listened to Capital Radio was when Kenny Everett was on  [yes, I really anm that old], so have never heard of Sonny Jay either

Two more contestants (7th and 8th) have been announced on BBC news this morning. Both Olympians

Colin Jackson. Olympic Athlete

Graham Bell Olympic Skier (with skating experience)

I would say the DOI line up is looking better than SCD currently.

Both contestants say  they will meet their partners and have first rehearsals in October.

I watched the interviews with both on BBC Breakfast this morning.

Good to see more people I`ve heard of being in DOI.

From their comments, I think they will add some humour to DOI.

So DOI does Strictly then? High proportion of ex-Strictly finalists so we should see some hard work put in to make it more competative over the weeks to come. Saying that, have we had the talentless reality star being announced yet? Given the sound of the barrel scraping, it may be one from last year or older. Like you, I have no idea of any names that come to mind either

So the 9th contestant is Rebekah Vardy. Called a TV personality?

I thought she was Jamie Vardy's wife...??

TV personality? Isn't that a term for "friend of a booking agent". Safe to say a footballer WAG with this impressive string of television credits. Only really known for being an ex-friend of Colleen Rooney and having a twitter spat with her that nobody cared about. Oh ITV make it exciting then, bring on Colleen Rooney then

10th Celeb Lady Leshurr. (No I've never heard of her either) Some sort of rapper.
