Incorrect Default

I recently applied for a mortgage that was declined due to a default on my credit report from O2 dated October 2023 that lasted till I paid off the amount owed after receiving a letter from Lowell’s.

I've now looked into this and am sure the default was a mistake because I’ve been with O2 for over 5 years and have always paid by Direct Debit, I’ve checked my account and can see that the DD has left on time every month. Not only that, but the last time I updated my contract prior to the default was November 2021 when I upgraded my phone on a 36 month contract, and have an O2 bill confirming I’d made all payments when the contract ended in September 2024 when I again upgraded my

phone.

I’ve emailed the credit referral team with evidence on my bank statements (going back to Nov 21) showing the DD leaving my account but wondered in the meantime if anyone else has had a similar situation? Reading other posts about defaults it seems a lot of people had trouble when they left O2 whereas I’m still a customer!

Contact one or all  CRAs — Equifax, TransUnion and Experian and put a flag on the notice, saying it is in dispute with O2 - the lender will be obliged to overlook or request info from O2 directly, @CP888.
