The first of 12 contestants has been announced for the new series starting in 2021

Myleene Klass

The judging panel remains the same as last year with Torvill and Dean, AShley Banjo and John Barrowman.

It will be hosted by Phil and Holly.

I read somewhere there will be a change in professional skaters. Not sure of all of them, though I do know that Alex Murphy who partnered Joe Swash to his unexpected win last year, has not been asked to return!

Missed last night`s show. After footie [which was brilliant game but we lost], worked on questions for the 100th WRQ on Wed.

From @Cleoriff `s write up, sounds like it was a good show. I hope I`ll be able to watch it on catch-up.

One small point @Cleoriff  Was there a golden ticket this time?

Yes it was given to Sonny Jay @Mi-Amigo. I get the feeling that will be the last of the golden tickets.

Hope you get to watch it. Faye and Hamish were just superb.

It's Musicals week next week.

I hope I get the chance to watch it @Cleoriff . I know you are rooting for Faye and Hmish, so would like to see their skate.

Must admit, I`m no lover of Musicals but song choice should interesting for next week and how they get on.

I`m with you @Cleoriff regarding Joe. Very good start to DOI last week. OK so he fell but still put in a strong routine.

BREAKING NEWS:

Due to the severity of her shoulder injury, Denise Van Outen has had to withdraw from Dancing On Ice. In her Instagram post she said that recent MRI scan showed she had 3 bone fractures & a partial dislocation. This has resulted in Denise & Matt to withdraw from the competition.

Olympic gymnast Amy Tinkler will join the competition as her replacement this Sunday. She will be partnered with professional skater Joe Johnson.

That's a shame

Sorry for Denise and Matt

Pre-competition I thought they would have been serious contenders for winning

Good luck Amy and Joe.

Maybe she should come back next year @Anonymous. No point carrying on with that type of injury.

Amy Tinkler is a British gymnast. Won Bronze in the Olympics.

I hope Denise does come back next year @Cleoriff

Amy looks so young

Just as a matter of interest. How long would you estimate Denise would recover from those injuries.

Shoulders take a ridiculously long time to heal @Anonymous.

If it was a simple dislocation, that can be returned to the joint immediately, a couple of days wearing a sling and some pain killers and within a week it would be ok to skate again.

However they have discovered now, she has 3 small fractures (which may or may not need internal fixation depending on the fracture size and how badly it's affecting the joints)

So it could be 8-12 weeks before it's fully stable again. Not forgetting she would need lots of physio to recover full arm and shoulder movement.

I'm VERY surprised this wasn't discovered at time of injury if honest!
