Phil opened the interview by congratulating Joe and Alex, then went on to ask...'How does it feel to beat the best skater we've ever seen on DOI?'

Says it all really roflrofl

Are those 'official' percentages?

They are from the DOI app @jonsie so I can only presume thye are correct. wink

Also appears that Joe was ahead all the way through!

The stats make interesting reading and show how close the voting was.

A closer look shows:

Third place:

Joe & Alex         - 43.20%

Perri & Vanessa - 41.48%

difference of     - 01.72%

Winner:

Joe & Alex         - 50.53%

Perri & Vanessa - 49.47%

difference of     - 01.06%

so, looking at that, shows Perri & Vanessa narrowed the gap in the final skate.

Cold comfort, I know, but this suggests that the public thought Perri & Vanessa`s skate of Bolera was better and gave them more votes.

As Libby only got 15% of the vote, you would get her supporters then voting for Joe or Perri.

I have found on the DOI forum I belong to, that people supported Joe because he had the most improved journey.

Also a lot of 'old fogeys' (excluding myself) did not get Perri's showdance. They obviously have no knowledge of the dance off's which take place between street dancing teams on a regular basis.

The same old fogeys who preferred Joe's Bolero to Perri's. They felt Perri did not keep to the theme.

Whereas I thought it was about time this 1984 dance was brought up to date.

Chris and Jayne got it and both said it was the best ever version of Bolero that they had ever seen.

PS it amused me on This Morning when Joe said openly that Perri was the one person he went to first to ask him how to do certain moves. Mmmmmm...

@Cleoriff

Interesting comments from the "old foggies".

I`ll throw my twopennyworth into the mix.

I preferred Joe`s opening skate - the Charlie Chaplin one. It did play to his "cheeky chappy" persona, but, in my opinion, was a good skate.

But, and a very big but, Perri`s Bolera was in a different league. Without an app, I made one vote and it was for Perri for that.

I agree @Mi-Amigo . Joe's showdance was a masterpiece. I loved it and it played to his strengths.
