The new series of Dancing On Ice officially starts in January 2020, although there will be a Christmas Special in 2019.

Last year a few people posted on the thread including @Glory1 so we will see how we go this year.

The main news is Jason Gardiner has left the show and John Barrowman will replace him. So no more nasty comments (shame)

The public vote was right

The judges were wrong

Perri and Joe skate Bolero

Libby is - at last - gone...

The voting public made the right decision...

Now to see some brilliant skating...

Well pleased. This has been a great final. Good luck Joe and Perri.

Perri and Vanessa...that was the best version of Bolero I've ever seen (with the exception of Chris and Jane)

I hope he wins. Head and shoulders above the rest tonight. (in my opinion of course....)

Mexican Wave CONGRATULATIONS JOE and ALEX Mexican Wave

WINNERS of DANCING ON ICE 2020

Surely the biggest shock result - ever - in all the years of DOI.

I don`t have an app so made a single vote - for Perri, who, in my opinion, was amazing tonight and should have been crowned Dancing on Ice Champion 2020

I would like to take this opportunity to thank @Cleoriff for creating the thread and keeping us informed weekly, throghout the competition, of the music chosen, the performances, and the routines Bow

Sorry what? Did this show just reach rock bottom by not voting the best skater of the series? Good show tonight but the end result, well, we'll all forget about it till the next series.

Agree with all that has been said above

Sorry, in all honesty I have to say I only saw tail end of Joe's Bolero and all of Perri's innovating Bolero

I had been shivering under the quilt in bed

Didn't then move to vote as my cat Marty was settled on my lap ... he's not well, see another thread

Am very angry ... the best skater from week 1 does not get crowned BEST DANCER ON ICE

Needless to say, there is a hell of a furore on social media about this result. They said the vote was the closest ever seen but didn't give us the percentage.

I have watched DOI since it started and I have never seen an odds on favourite fail to win.

Others are saying 'but Joe had the biggest journey and deserved to win for that alone'.

Sorry he did NOT.

Perri being a dancer had a big disadvantage, as you have to forget everything you learned as a dancer, posture, hold, body core etc etc as it's completely different when you dance on ice. That comment was made by James Jordan, last years winner who is a professional dancer on SCD.

There are also a lot of people saying they didn't get Perri's show skate. It was choreographed by Chris and Jane...so obviously the people who didn't get it, have no idea about street dancers and their dance offs.

Joe did well last night but week after week he has wobbled whilst skating. Something we never saw from Perri.

What we saw last night was the'cheekie chappie' peoples favourite win. The same way he won I'm A Celebrity, Get Me Out Of Here

Anyway Joe and Alex are on This Morning in a couple of minutes so I'm off to see what they say!
