Christmas Jukebox.

Just found out that John Travolta and Oliva Neuton Bomb have recorded a Christmad song - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iGNIDXUaVts&hd=1  (WARNING - not recommended for diabetics or people with taste).

Got me thinking - we're used to hearing the same half-dozen Christmas songs on the radio - Slade, Wizard, Pogues, Bowie & Crosby etc - but what about the ones that you know of (whether you like them or not) that don't get played so often.

I'd have to start with "It's Christmas Time" by Status Quo (I'm biased but I reckon that's a good effort) and the completly awful "Christmas in the Sun" by Rick Parfitt and Rolf Harris.

It's Christmas Time - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MxG49nJmkwQ&hd=1

Christmas in the Sun - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9VMgzkzQR_8&hd=1

Get enough songs listed here - with links to hear them if possible - and we'll have our very own Xmas Jukebox slight_smile

Oh no. That ONJ & JT covers the two most reviled genres of music: Country and Christmas. I hate this time of the year when Neo-Sladism appears.

I have a Christmas album that is incredibly awful - Christmas carols played by an upbeat Tijuana brass-band.  It is totally horrendous - the musical equivalent of being trapped in a lift for eternity with Graham Norton and a Doctor Who fan.

BUT...

...it's SO naff that everyone who hears it laughs - so it's perfect as Christmas music because it makes everyone happy.

My kids bought 45's for my Mum & Dad which I sort of re-inherited when my parents passed on. I can't throw them away but I'm embarrassed that I am the keeper (for want of a better word!) of the following :

Grandad by Clive Dunn and No one quite like Grandma by the St Winifred's School Choir, quite possibly the worst ever 'hit' but I would give anything to be round at theirs listening to them again for the zillionth time:smileysad:
