No apologies for this. Most of you will know of my love of big cats (any and all)
The Amur Leopard is a very endangered species. Only 200 left in the world and most of those are in captivity. It is believed only 70 are roaming wild
Yesterday Twycross Zoo announced the great news that a pair of Amur Leopard cubs had been born 5 weeks ago. CCTV footage covered the birth...
Hopefully, these cubs will help towards repopulating the natural habitat.....
Yesterday they ventured out for the first time...

So just a calculated guess then.
A scientifically calculated guess....We have to trust the experts in this field to know what's happening . I don't suppose we could ever accuse our national treasure Sir David Attenborough of telling porkies to get the sympathy vote for the decline in wild animal numbers....

Sorry won't be getting into a debate about this. The topic started off as good news about 2 cubs recently born to an endangered species. You are pushing for a discussion on manipulation of statistics and funding issues. Wildlife is endangered Some species are near extinction. Those are facts...

Why not ?......when you're after people's hard earned money, anything goes......just look at some of the charity TV adverts as an example.
There's no guarantee that your money will be used as intended either.
Just heard on the news about some World Vision charity donations that had been "diverted" to build an Hamas HQ

Thought this fits here quite well, since it's about big cats!
Today is World Lion Day!
It's the first global campaign to celebrate lions. I hadn't actually realised this as I've read more about tigers recently, but lions are also in danger of becoming extinct in some parts of the world. In Africa from 1975 onwards there's been a 80-90% decline in lion population. 😞
This celebration day was founded by Big Cat Rescue by the way who I'm also following on FB - they do some wonderful work on rescuing big cats, e.g. from abusive circus situations or road shows.
