Apple Lightning USB

I was considering buying a spare lightning cable so that I can charge my phone at work.  When I looked on the Apple site I came across the perfect thing - a keychain.

It looks great and ideal, however when I have read reviews online, I have found that, although it is useful, people are saying that it is not worth the money.

It is not an Apple product and therefore it is not covered by the usual Apple warranty so that puts me off it a bit.

Does anyone have one of these? Or can you recommend anything similar?

Gemma like everyone else you must weigh up the pro's and the Con's.

Apples Uk Warranty is clear https://www.apple.com/legal/warranty/products/iphone-english-uk.html

Wether you want to use a 3rd Party accessory is down to personal choice.

Gemma's link (in particular) is to Apple's own website. It states that particular product is not covered by Apples's warranty but equally it doesn't mean it would invalidate any phone warranty that it was used on.
They wouldn't sell it if it was dodgy....

This is true MI5 but the link I added to the full warranty says;

WHAT IS NOT COVERED BY THIS WARRANTY?
"c) to damage caused by use with another product;"

But we digress.

So what is the point of the MFI certification process? yes the device will only be covered by the manufacturers own warranty but how can that invalidate the phone warranty the lightning leads contain the original plug and chip (a bit like using the official adaptor on my belkin setup) I will ask this question directly to apple in the morning.

Totally agree Adam.

We all know that if a problem occurs with a phone and it's proved damage has been caused by a non authentic accessory then Warranty Terms and Conditions can be used as a get out clause.

@Anonymous I will upload results of apple live chat when back on pc in the morning but using a mfi certified lead dock etc will not invalidate your warranty if the device is listed on the product compatibility list.

Ok awesome! I will be happy to answer that query for you, Adam! As long as the cable and devices are compatible with the device they are being used with, they will not void your warranty. Accessories should show somewhere on their packaging what they are compatible with.
