Anyone who has been on a drip - help!

This is completely off topic but I need advice from you good people!

When I was in hospital on Sunday I was on a drip and the cannula was put in the back of my wrist.  I can hardly see the place it went in but my wrist is very swollen and painful - I can't stand anything touching it.  Is that normal?  It's years since I was last on a drip but I can't remember it hurting like this!  I also had bloods taken from the underside of my wrist but that has only bruised (a lovely range of colours now!), the pain is on the top.

As I said, completely off topic but this forum is a great place for all sorts of advice!

Problem is that no one bothers to read the information sheet which comes with any medication. There are many conditions which prohibit the normal usage of 'everyday' drugs such as aspirin, ibuprofen and Paracetamol and can lead to some bad reaction or side affects.

Because I tend to over think things my husband reads the leaflet that comes with any new drugs that I need to take so I can't imagine I've got all the side effects!

Anyway, for all that Tracey...how is the pain and swelling today?

Did you need a visit to the GP, or has it resolved itself?

(Not being nosey of course...just checking on the condition of my 'patient' ):happy-smiley58:..

@Cleoriffit's swollen and very sore but the earliest appointment I could get is on Saturday by which time it will have probably gone down!  I didn't feel it warranted an emergency appointment though!

Thank you for checking up on me!
