he won't slow down. I think his son is keeping him going, if I read correctly, why? He should tell him to relax put his feet up, go fishing or something.  OK I hear you cleo don't get mad!yahoo

The thing is @TallTrees if work keeps Tom Jones going, and he looks good on it, why should he stop doing what he clearly loves.

If you really enjoy what you do and are good at it, why retire. Obviously it depends on the job, physical work like construction can't be done in your 70s.

I hope Sir Tom keeps going until he's too old and feeble to reach a mic. Until then, long may he continue.

You sure it is not cruelty to old performing "dad" LOL

I definitely don't blame him for doing the things he obviously loves. People in show business normally carry on until they are dragged off the earth. They thrive on it and get well paid but if you are in Sir Tom's position I reckon he would do it all or nothing.

You really think he'd do it for nothing? LOL
He's a better man than I thought

Hello @Cleoriff

Actually he has got a good voice, cleo, you are right and thousands think the same.

He's ok ~ like Harry Secombe is was ok too, somehow I acquired a recording tape

of his ~ help!

Actually I can listen to most singers or music (with possibly the exception of Wagner)

I like piano or big band music anything really. Jazz is fine, I like Gospel.

I wouldn't go to a concert for anyone ~ never appealed to me that.

But well done and enjoy to those who do ~  it must be very atmospheric.

Hi @TallTrees

If you look at some of the rock groups today, mentioning The Who in particular, they are all in their 70's, as are The Stones. These are groups of the 60's who I grew up with. They can still fill stadiums and their concerts are sold out in minutes. Pink Floyd, who have split up, still perform as two separate groups but playing the same superb music.

Rod Stewart and singers like him have still got the wow factor (for me anyway).

ELO are one of the best live bands I've ever seen.

The list is endless. I have seen many live in concert...

However, I'm not stuck in a timewarp LOL

I also like a lot of the other 'younger' groups ..Take That, Robbie Williams. Muse. Little Mix, Green Day, The Prodigy etc.

Having said all of the above... my favourite band of all time is Queen. heart

I love music @TallTrees just about every genre from soul to country and classical including opera. I'm a big Motown fan, love my rock like The Who, Queen, Pink Floyd and soul like the late greats Aretha Franklin and Isaac Hayes, not forgetting the godfather of soul James Brown. But then I also love Elton John, mainly his old hits tbh. And I love John Barrowman who is a great singer as well as an actor. I like some of Kanye West's tracks, particularly Gold Digger, though I think he's a fruit loop and Ice Cube and LL CoolJ for rap. For classical anything by Tchaikovsky, Beethoven, Brahms and Mozart. Also love country Dolly Parton and Kenny Rogers are big favourites and latin Gloria Esefan and Ricky Martin are the best. I could go on and on but I think you get it.

I think the 60s and 70s were the best for music, though there were some good tracks in the 80s and 90s. Todays music. I like some of the new groups like Little Mix, The Wanted, love RagnBone Man: Human is my favourite LP which I listen to a lot.

I could go on and on and on; as I say I love music, all sorts of music. What I listen to depends on the mood I'm in at the time. Oh and I liked the Four Tops, The Three Degrees and Robbie Williams too, and don't forget The Drifters laughing
