Solved: cancelling existing sim only O2 contract and start...

My husband's current sim only O2 contract is about to end in a couple of weeks, but we have access to a new sim only contract with O2 via our renewed Virgin Media contract.
My question:
How do we cancel the existing contract and use the new sim with his old number? It might be complicated by the fact that the VM contract and new sim are in my name. TIA

No matter what name the sim is in.

Just request the number is migrated to the new sim.
