O2 doesn't have any roaming  agreements for India I'm afraid

Your best bet is to check out prices for using a local sim.

Until then use Wifi only. Make sure voicemail is off. As you can see the prices for using your phone in India are pretty horrendous.

You need to try and latch onto BNSL or Airtel, as o2 do have roaming agreements in India.. 

If you have 5G enabled, force the phone onto 4G or 3G
