I had a call from 02 "so she said," an Indian lady  on 44 20 8017 0120. asked if everything was ok with service or any problems. I said I had issues when in Ireland, turkey, & Dominican republic that my phone would work, I could text or phone. she said our system had been upgraded & I need a new sim which is compatible with my Samsung. she then asked me for my email address DOB & first pets name. i gave her both. she then said pet name was wrong. repeated spelling several times. She also asked for my husbands email, i refused to give it to her. she then sent an email to me to reset password to promotion 2024. by now I'm getting anoid & suspicious. so I hung up. She called back & persisted I'm must type the new password in. I wouldn't do it. I then asked her to send me information in the post, she then ended the call. was this a fraud call or 02?

@TB6467 Yes it most certainly was a scam call. You should never give information to a cold caller, no matter who they say they are.

If you think you’ve been the victim of fraud – whether it’s because you’ve given details to someone over the phone, or clicked on a link in a suspicious text or email there are things you can do:
Contact your bank if you think you may have given out financial information. They can help protect your account and stop transactions.
Change your account and online account passwords. Not just your O2 account. All of them.
Forward fraudulent texts to O2 for free on 7726.
Contact Action Fraud on 0300 123 2040.
Call your Virgin Media or O2 customer services number if you think somebody’s taken out a contract using your details.
Virgin Media customers can phone 150 from their landline or 0345 454 1111 from any other phone.
O2 customers can call 202 from their O2 phone or 0344 809 0202 from any other phone.

You can block the number that called you, or any number you think may be suspicious.

@TB6467 As per the post above, you gave the caller way too much information. Just notifying O2 is not enough to protect you. You need to change your passwords and monitor your bank account.

Who did you email @ O2. They don't usually do email support.

As before, change password and memorable information and notify your bank
