Aldi is cheaper than Tesco etc......

Swings and roundabouts. Sometimes it's the other way round.
Cheapest way to upgrade is to source your own handset then go SIM only through the likes of USwitch
This is not O2 and we are all customers here similar to yourself and cannot answer account type queries.

Get direct frrom the manufacturer
They all do credit plans over 24 months rather than the ridiculous 48 month offerings from O2
You can then get a cheaper sim only plan from the likes of USwitch etc
