I am unable to message certian numbers as all I get through is" **STATUS** permanently failed..."

How do I fix this?
What does this mean? Never happend before

I have turned my phone off and on again but not helping

This is an issue that's been happening 2-3 weeks now and supposedly fixed twice. Obviously not for some customers. Check the advice in this thread but I suspect it's call to customer service. You might also want to try cleaning the sim card.

@Marjo @Martin-O2 any news on this?

According to the link in your thread @jonsie this was first reported on the forum on the  2nd June? So that's 7 weeks which is an overly long time for this fault to still be going on. Checking your network status may be an option @Anonymous

Whatever the problem it's gone on far too long now. I'm not convinced it's an issue between o2 and any other single network or between any two or the models of phones. 

Are messages actually sent despite the status error? I'm guessing not and thankfully I've never had this happen to me. ....damn,now I've gone and done it!
