After three weeks loss of my local mast in central British city I have been without o2 4G, or 3G, B/B. Why can a mast, in a city, on public land be down without repair for more than a couple of days? Do engineers exist and do they have spare parts to repair masts? Why do masts break down, anyway?

This seems like something o2 is doing to improve the signal services, also since my phone mast has been worked on I have full signal and 4G now which is brilliant, I didn't bother complaining about the outage for 48 hours as its an improved service

O2 is reported to be spending £1.5 million a day on network upgrades which will inevitably mean some disruption to the signal in the areas been worked on.
