What's happened with the login / registration process for the forums?
I'm not a regular visitor, but I did set up a forum username a while ago to ask a question.
When I tried to log in recently, I was prompted to log in to my online o2 account (rather than log in with my forum username). I was then promted to create a username for the forum so I put in my old username but it wouldn't accept it - not because it was already taken (by me!!) but because it contained dots, which it said isn't allowed. I replaced the dots with dashes, so now I have a new forum username ian-i-am (rather than ian.i.iam).
Having checked some of my old posts, I see my old account still exists but with underscores (instead of dots).
So now I've got a new forum username ian-i-am, linked to my main o2 account.
And my old username, which was ian.i.iam is now ian_i_am but I have no way of accessing it.
To be honest, I'm not really bothered - but it does all seem rather messy!!!

Thanks Leonard, but now I've started posting using my new username, I've no need to have my old username back. As I've mentioned, it looks like dots are a no-no in usernames so it's either dashes or underscores. I guess I'll just stick with being ian-i-am.
